One of our cameras was recently droped by a news photgrapher. We sent our high def camera to Canon for repair and were told it would cost from $200 to $400 to repair it depending on the severity. We paid the $400 and we have now used it for the first time since it was returned. We video taped a congressional debate. It recorded fine but would not download to our computer for airing on tv. We have returned the camera for warranty service and have not recieved a response back from Canon after repeated calls including one to Canon President Joe Adachi 1-516-328-5000. Other than a no charge estimate for the repairs which were suppose to be done in 7 to 10 days, it has now been over three weeks and we have been unable to cover several political forums and consumer concerns because of their delay.
We were able to speak to Mr. Adachi’s Ex Asst, Ms. Dot Auguston who had there Senior Expeditor, Michael Logan contact us. The camara was promptly repaired and returned to us. We know that no one is perfect and even though the delays we experienced were excessive, the bottom line is upper management delt with the issue promptly and set a standard for their associates to follow. Canon receives our four star rating ****
thanks for all the free community service you have provided for years. I will contact Canon And let them know I want Them to fix your camera now ”OR” I will switch next time i replace my camera..
Thank you Mr. Rangel for the kind words. Although we initially had difficulty getting anyone to return our calls we are receiving an acceptable level of cooperations having contacted the office of the President at Canon.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL CANON AT THIS TIME…………………….
We contacted the office of Canon President Joe Adachi and spoke to his executive assistant Ms. Dot Aufuston. She had Michael Logan Sr. Customer service cordinator for Canon contact me. He is unable to provide estimated completion date due to holidays but confirmed that camera is being repaired at no charge and will be overnighted to us once it is repaired.
Will contact us on Monday Dec 26th to give us the expected delivery date.
We will stay on top of this until we file our completed service assesment report.
